Flat Iron Day Hike

This weekend we went on a day hike to the top of Flat Iron in the Superstition Mountains. We started out at Lost Dutchman State Park just out side of Apache Junction. We spent 4 hours climbing to the top of Flat Iron. Once on top we had a lunch and took a long break. It only took us 2.5 hours to get back down to the trucks. The hike was 5.8 miles roundtrip, 2,000 foot elevation climb. It was a hard hike but well worth the effort. Good job for all the boys that made the hike.
