2009 District Camporee

This last weekend we had the 2009 District Camporee at Schnepf farm. The theme for the Camporee was I love my Country. We had a camp fire program for the entire camporee that acknowledged what the armed forces do for us. We hen split up and had a trail of honor. We then split into Stake groups and had a small campfire program where we, our troop, retired a flag. The next morning we had a flag raising for our sub camp and then the games started. We started with National Treasure, a compass course to find letters to make a word, we then had Paul Revers ride, we answered scout oriented questions, next was I love my country, where we answered questions about our state and country, then we had a rescue relay consisting of a fireman drag, fireman carry, and stretcher carry, the boys had to make the stretcher over for each one of the scouts, then was Destroy the Enemy stock pile, we had to make a fire a burn through a piece of twine, and last we had Flag over Ground Zero, where the scouts lashed together 3 poles attached a flag to the top and raise the pole with three support ropes. The organizers keep us busy at the camporees and they are a lot of fun.
