Combined youth activity

Our troop camped out at upper Sycamore on Friday night. It is a short drive from Mesa and allows us to set up camp before nightfall. We camped out under the stars. The boys got a little nervous when I pointed out a scorpion cruising around by firelight. The next morning we got up early and headed to Strawberry to meet up with the rest of the youth. We were suppose to go to Fossil springs but ended up having to change our plans. We went into West clear creek just a short drive away. It is a really steep hike in and out. Zach got up close and personal with a few wasps and came out a little worse for wear. After removing the stingers and treating with some cortizone cream it was time for some fun. We played in the stream and jumped off a boulder into the stream. After a few hours of swimming a few of the youth and a couple of the leaders went for a hike up the canyon to a spring. Everyone had a good time even Zach.
